Tenafly Softball offers in-town recreational leagues for players in 1st through 8th grade.
Tenafly Lions Little League T-Ball: Tenafly Softball does not have a formal program for this age group. All kindergarten players interested should consider T-Ball. Tenafly Softball considers T-ball a proper foundation for children interested in learning either baseball or softball.
Minors: For players in grades 1 & 2, this program is designed to teach the basic skills of softball primarily through clinics in a non-competitive atmosphere. There will also be non-competitive scrimmages.
Inters: For players in grades 3rd and 4th, this program is designed for the next level of skills with clinics and games.
Juniors: For players in grades 5th & 6th. The league follows in the footsteps of the Minors program building on the teaching and reinforcing of softball skills such as Base Running, Throwing, Catching, Batting, Defensive Positioning, etc. This program is intended to advance the skills of the players and their understanding of the rules in a more competitive game environment. As the season progresses game situational coaching is integrated.
Seniors: For players in the 7th and 8th grade, this program is based on fun and will only be games using a sandlot approach. Teams will be chosen at the night of the game. environment.
